Molly's First Christmas

I know what you are thinking. Christmas. That was last month. Yes, I know. Every time I get behind on my blog, I make some kind of comment like " I am going to try to be better about blogging". Well, let's face it. I am not the best blogger. Anyways, here are a few of the many pictures that we took on Molly's First Christmas. She was 8 months and 1 day old on Christmas. It was a very fun age! Those of you who have kiddos know that at this age, all they care about is eating the paper. That is what she did most of the morning.

Uncle Brian put a bowl on his head, and Molly thought it was funny. Can you blame her?

What a great Christmas. One I will never forget!

SNOW!

I love this sweet girl! We spent more time getting Molly dressed than we did outside in the snow, but Molly got to "play" in the snow. Here we are getting ready to go out. I didn't realize how high her pants were until I saw this picture, but she is still a cutie!
When we went outside, she just stared at the snow. She did this funny thing where every time the wind blew, she took a deep breath and held it. She slowly let it out when the wind died for a few seconds. Then she would do it all over again. It was snowing much harder than these pictures make it look like!

Good Friends. Good Times.

Dicky and I were so honored to be a part of Amanda and Clif's wedding. We love them so much and it was a sweet, sweet wedding. I guess I was too busy running around doing things that bridesmaids do, because I didn't take many pictures. I stole this one off of facebook. It is, as you can see, the girls!

Clif and Amanda are so special to us. I have known Amanda since 5th grade. She taught me how to make nachos in the microwave and dance to Ace of Base when we were in 5th grade. We also played handbells together at FBC Grapevine. I just thought I should throw that it. :) Once we got to college, I taught her how to study and drink coffee. :) I also worked with her with the whole "using a planner thing". I think she still uses one...? We met Clif at Hardin Simmons. We have many memories with these two. :) I remember riding our bikes around Hardin Simmons Campus and them trying to teach me to "hop the curb". I know, people, it isn't hard, but it is. :) I still don't like to do it. Most recently, they were at the hospital when our first daughter, Molly, was born. Let me remind you all that she was born at 1:12 in the morning. They stuck around during labor and after. I think that they left the hospital at 3 or 4 in the morning and had to be at work the next morning. That is what you call good friends. :) We love yall and look forward to many memories as old married couples! Let's plan this cruise!

I know that these next few pictures are a bit embarassing, but these are for you Amanda! I love you and hope these pictures send you down memory lane. :)
At FBC Abilene, being silly in the kitchen.

Family Picture

I just wanted to post our most recent family picture, just because. I am also posting one of our family pictures from when Molly was three weeks old! I like to compare the "then and now."

The recent Christmas picture was taken in my parents' beautiful backyard that they have recently relanscaped. I was glad that we were able to use it as the background for our picture!

The newborn picture was taken in Springtown, at Dicky's parents' house. We loved taking these pictures out in the country. It was beautiful.

The Tradition Continues

At Thanksgiving each year, my brother and I always got a Hallmark ornament from Mom and Dad. The series that they get for me is the Nostalgic Houses Series. It is one of the longest series that Hallmark has yet to have. I love it! It started the year that I was born, 1984, and is still a "continuing series".

We decided to start a series for Molly and the most exciting "first in series" for 2009 is the Season's Treating's series. We also got her a Baby's First Christmas ornament, of course. Here is the sweet girl opening up her first of many Hallmark ornaments!

Thanks, Mommy and Daddy! What a sweet face. :)

What will the 2010 ornament look like? Can't wait to find out!

Mother/Daughter Dresses :)

My birthday is April 11 and Molly's birthday is April 24. Mom and Dad saved a few of the dresses that I wore as a baby. It has been fun to put these dresses on Molly and listed to Mom and Dad's stories that go along with them.

One that was very special was the pink dress that I wore for my baby dedication. Molly was dedicated at about the same time of the year that I was when I was a baby. September, 4 months old. So, for Molly's baby dedication, she wore the exact same dress that I wore 25 years ago for my dedication. Here is Molly is the dress:
(I didn't realize how bald she was on the side until I looked back at these pictures!)

Another dress that Mom wanted to get a picture of Molly is was one of the dresses that I wore for my first Christmas. I wish that I could scan a picture of me in this dress and post it, because we so much like each other. I think that Molly looks just like her Daddy, but in this dress, I saw myself for once! :)
